I had fun running in the Taylorsville Dayzz 5k this year. Since it's a smaller, local race it makes it really nice because the starting line was 5 minutes away by our local rec center so I didn't have to worry about getting up at the crack of dawn, stress about parking and trying to find Steve after the race, etc. This was my first time doing a 5k by myself, so I wanted to see how much I could push myself. I ended up running a 9.4 minute pace which I was pleased with, especially since there were a few slightly hilly spots. I finished #2 in my age division (which is not as impressive as it sounds since there were only 14 ladies in my division), but hey, I'll take it!
