I can't believe it's that time of year again, high school football season.
We had our first game last Friday against Brighton. We won, and a win against Brighton is always sweet. We've had some problems with them in the past, I won't go into the gory details, suffice it to say they seem to have an eastsider uppercrust mentality and I'm sure it stings to lose to us lowly westsiders, ha ha...(no offense if any of you are Brighton alumni!) Anyhoo...here's Steve in action on the sidelines.
Steph showing her Cougar pride...
Alex leading the crowd in a cheer...."give me a K!"

One Year Old Pics...

I finally got around to getting Alex's one year old pictures done. He was such a doll and so happy that all the pictures turned out beautifully which made it excruciating for me to choose which ones to buy. (Pictures are my weakness, thus I made a huge contribution to the struggling economy via Target!) I reminded myself that when he's all grown up I'll be glad that I bought so many pictures...

Daddy's Little Steeler
Here is Alex, demonstrating some basic football fundamentals...first, hiking the ball.
Second, as a quarterback getting ready to hand the ball off to his running back.
Third, going after the ball for a fumble recovery.
Big congratulations from Coach Daddy on a game well played!
Believe it or not, Steve really hasn't started molding Alex into a future football star, we just lucked out with some great timing in some of these shots where it looks like he's actually playing. Too cute!

EFY
Last week Steph and her cousin Jessilyn (who is the same age as Steph) went to EFY (Especially for Youth) up at the University of Utah. It's a church sponsored program for teenagers where they get to stay in the dorms and attend a ton of activities, dances, etc.
Steph ended up having a really good time, it sounds like it was a very uplifting and strengthening experience which in today's world is invaluable for teenagers!
As you can see, in Steph's "company" the boy to girl ratio was severely lopsided. As boy crazy as Steph is, I was surprised she wasn't mad about that! The first thing Steph said to me at the end of the week was, "I don't want to leave." I was really happy that she had such a great time.
