#33

The #33 is the official number for the Lilly family. It was Steve's jersey number in high school, now Steph has had it for both basketball and softball. So imagine my elation when I found this shirt for Alex...

The number 33 in our school colors, no less! Alex has pretty much been the Kearns High little mascot since he started going to football games at the age of 3 months, so this was perfect!

I love the way these girls are ready to get down and dirty, but are all about looking cute while they do it. Notice the cute green polka dot ribbon, some days you'll see the girls with green nail polish or green eye shadow too. Gotta love the school spirit!

Steve's dad recently came from Mississippi to visit for a few weeks. He moved there right after Steve's mom died a year ago, and everyone was really happy to see him. He'll be 84 years old in a few days, but acts more like he's 64. In fact, one day he had me drop him off at Wal Mart and insisted that he walk home. It's at least a 5 mile drive, so I felt horrible leaving him there, but he's pretty stubborn so I didn't know what else to do. I think he just tries to stay super busy to keep from being lonely. It's hard for Steve to say good bye, knowing that it's a possibility he may not see him again if something were to happen, but like Steve said, he may just out live us all!

Yesterday we did our annual 5k run for the Salt Lake Marathon, but our numbers have grown. It started out as a tradition for Steph and I, last year Alex joined the crew, and this year, wonder of wonders, we talked Steve into doing it with us. He had a good time and wants to do it again next year. I was really proud of Steph, she ran the whole thing without stopping, and I was proud of myself for being a patient wife and holding myself back so I could cross the finish line with Steve, when I would have really liked to have run the whole thing. (Don't tell him I said that!) For those of you who know Sarah Crawford, I ran into her and she had just completed the half marathon (13 miles), what a woman! I'm hoping this will jump start me into being more consistent with working out...only a month and a half till swimsuit season--yikes!

Easter

Think Happy Thoughts...

This post is mainly for my own therapy. I think I have that one condition, what's is called...seasonal mood disorder or something like that. I know a lot of my fellow Utahns are feeling the same right now. Enough is enough. Steve and Steph have only played one of their 6 scheduled softball games in the past 2 weeks because of the rain/snow. Since Easter is only one week away, I'd love to put my little Easter decorations in the front yard, but I can't bare to see the little bunnies sitting in snow...it just ain't right. So back to the pictures...I've gotta think happy thoughts to get me through till Mother Nature decides she's going to cut me a break. Seeing some summertime memories give me a little hope.

I Get By With a Little Help From My Friends....

Poor little Alex is usually so bored being stuck at home with boring old Mommy. So it was a good week for him, his cousin Adam came and played with him Wednesday, and his other cousins Artez and Amil came Thursday and Saturday. He was in heaven!

Here's Steph with some of her softball buddies. I'm so glad she's involved with sports at school so that she has a good network of friends. As you all know, the kind of friends you hang with in high school can make you or break you!

This is where you can find Alex at any given moment these days, for he has learned the art of the tantrum.

The thing that kills me is that I'll leave the room, and a few minutes later come back to check on him and he'll be playing. But as soon as he sees me, he falls out on the floor again and starts fake crying. This time though, he saw me pull out my camera...

and took a time out from all the dramatics to give the paparazzi a primo photo op.
