Steph playing a little 2-on-2. She and Uncle Mark (love the neon headbands Steph provided!) were at a slight height disadvantage playing against her cousins who are in the mid six foot range, but they held their own considering!
Alex LOVED all the attention he got from his cousins, who were so good to play with him and entertain him.
Cousins in front of the bear skin rug. There were numerous dead animals showcased throughout the house, I just have to ignore them cause they freak me out a little bit!
Some of us went on a long walk along a quiet, beautiful country road. I think I could live there!
The whole Eide Family, minus my brother in law who was out of town for work, and my niece and her new husband who were on their honeymoon. I can't believe they passed up the family reunion for Mexico! :)

Kristin and Ben
My beautiful and amazing niece got married last weekend. It seems like just yesterday I was 17 and flying out to Illinois to help my sister when she was a newborn, and today she turned 21 years old! The wedding was the first time in a long time all my family was together, which was great. Here are a few pics from the day...
p.s.- f.y.i, Jordan has not fallen off the face of the earth, he's with his mom for the summer so
that's why he's not in any pictures.

Silver Lake
Last weekend, we drove up Big Cottonwood Canyon to Silver Lake.
It was sooo nice to breathe in the fresh mountain air!
There's a trail that circles the lake, perfect for a nice stroll.
Of course eventually, little Mr. Independent wanted to feel like a big boy and got out and walked.

Joys: 1) I already loved being a mom, but becoming a "new mom" again 15 years later has brought me so much joy. Partly because I'm older, wiser, and realize how quickly kids grow up so I'm trying to soak up every moment. Also partly due to the fact that we waited so long for this little guy (so long, in fact that we had given up on waiting).
2) Napa, CA. Growing up here I completely took it for granted and did not realize what a beautiful place it is. Unfortunately it took moving away to realize how much I love it. (Also unfortunate that the high cost of living there makes it very hard to move back!) I don't get to go home to visit often, but when I do, I truly feel like I am where I belong. Even Steve and Stephenie feel that way although they weren't raised there. There is also something about being in my parents home that just makes me feel so safe, and happy.
3) I know this sounds odd, but going to the gym makes me very happy. Since I had Alex it's been a struggle to go as often as I used to, but I'm trying to be better, and trying to get rid of this post pregnancy bulge (which does NOT bring me joy!)
Fears:
1) Having something bad happen to any of my family members.
2) Being broke. I don't need to be rich, I just need to feel secure.
3) I don't mean to sound sacreligious, but the thought of everything that will happen before the second coming scares the crap out of me! Hopefully I'll be dead and gone by then, but if so, there's a good chance it'll happen during my kids lifetimes, especially the direction this world is heading in these days, and that makes me afraid for them.
Goals: Overall, I just want to be a good enough mom so that my kids turn out happy, healthy and productive. Oh yeah, and to get rid of that aforementioned post pregnancy bulge!
Current Obsession: I love watching "Jon and Kate Plus 8". Steve can not stand that show because Kate can be such a biotch to poor Jon. But come on, if you were trying to run a household of two 7 year olds and six three year olds, you'd be a tad bit testy too. Kate is my idol!
**I would like to tag April, Rachelle and Jeannette**

Alexander Island
Alex got this cool little "pool" from his cousin for his birthday. We set it up today and just about passed out trying to blow up all the inflatable things.
It even has a little slide.
Having a great time even if the water is freezing cold!
Gettin' a little sip!

My Angelina Jolie Baby
Collagen for babies? No, actually my poor little guy is getting quicker on his feet every day. He got going too fast and couldn't stop himself, running right into an end table and giving himself a fat lip! I guess this will probably be the first of many injuries now that he's so mobile...

Arts Festival
For the second summer Steph had the chance to work at the Arts Festival, delivering ice and water to the Coke trailers.
They work long, 12 hour shifts in the blazing heat, but have a blast. (Tax free earnings is another plus!)
We went to check it out one night, and of course embarassed Steph by making her take pictures. There were a lot of yummy food stands to choose from, and tons of cool art.
